Vale of Clwyd Mind is one of only a handful of local Mind branches taking part in an innovative new research project which aims to support people through hard times.

It is well known that financial pressures can affect mental health – and vice versa. Following Covid and more recently the cost of living and energy crisis, people are finding it increasingly difficult to manage financially. This means that more people than ever are accessing food banks just to ‘get by.’

This project has created a new opportunity to support those experiencing difficulties through close partnership working between Vale of Clwyd Mind and Denbighshire Citizens Advice and local foodbanks.

For those in need there will be a ‘wrap around’ service in which people can access not only food parcels but easy access to financial, benefits and debt advice and support through Citizens’ Advice and a Social Prescribing Service from VOCM which provides emotional support.

As a result, practitioners from Citizens’ Advice and Vale of Clwyd Mind will soon be on hand in Denbigh and Prestatyn Foodbanks to provide a wide range of advice and support.
